Drift and Echo explores the complex experience of adolescence and the impacts of misogyny on self image during this time. Inspired by Sofia Coppola's, The Virgin Suicides, colour and tone play a significant role in evoking emotion and mood. The series utilizes both archival imagery and photography to symbolise themes of discomfort, change and nostalgia. The ideas behind the series were influenced by the writing of Laura Mulvey and coming of age literature such as, The Catcher in the Rye.
